Columbia Dream Center
Primary Responsibility: to provide comprehensive case management for the homeless outreach ministries of Columbia Dream Center (DC), including but not limited to the Columbia Shelter and Restart Day Center.
Accountability: reports to the Assistant Director and relies on input from the Director and Advisory Board of DC.
Duties:
- The Associate Case Manager assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the client’s needs to improve outcomes, experiences, and value. Acts as liaison to people who are outside of the social services network of care in a way that seeks to restore and reshape the lives and dreams of each individual in keeping with our mission to fill the needs of our guests with a goal of healing and wholeness from the trauma of homelessness.
- Ensure the dignity and respect of our guests according to Biblical values (Matthew 25:40, Deuteronomy 25:35-36) as expressed in the Reformed Tradition of the Christian faith, the Mission Statement of DC, and following the example of relational community ministry established by Aimee Semple McPherson that continues today in the work of the Los Angeles Dream Center. - The Associate Case Manager will meet with clients of the Columbia Shelter, Restart Day Center, and independent clients wo enter our facility for assistance.
- Works closely with various agencies providing social services, benefits, medical care, probation and parole, and other organizations necessary to the progress of our guests from homelessness to independence.
- Attends weekly staff meetings with the Director and staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
- This position is part-time, hourly, and non-exempt, comprising approximately 15 hours per week.

- Physical Requirements: Standing, walking, reaching, bending, twisting, ability to carry/lift 40 lbs.
Repetitive Action - Prepare/cook food, stock and inventory product, operate laundry equipment, operate and clean kitchen equipment, use cleaning tools and supplies.

• Safety Risk Factors - Twisting, slippery floor surfaces, cluttered floor surfaces, toxic exposure, nuisance dust, hot cooking surfaces and equipment, fumes, sprays, hazardous cleaning solutions, and operation of department equipment.
• Machines, Tools, Equipment - Food processor, grill, slicer, warmer, ovens, knives, kitchen utensils, electric scales, mixer, shrink film wrapper, washing machine, clothes dryer, mop, bucket, various brooms.
Education and Experience
- A college degree in social work is desired
- High School diploma or GED required
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to be adaptable to the environment of working with homeless individuals
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, and show familiarity with database operations
- Demonstrate technical and operating expertise for various types of kitchen and office equipment
