Director of Family Ministries

Reports To: Lead Pastor

Summary: Lead and organize ministries that spiritually nurture the children and youth of the Covenant community and beyond in a way that shares the welcome and love of Christ with children, youth, and those who care for them. 

Essential Functions:

  1. Organize and support ministry to children and youth from birth through grade 12, including Sunday, summer, and church year activities
  2. Organize and direct Covenant’s Vacation Bible School
  3. Supervise nursery caregivers
  4. Recruit, train, and lead congregational volunteers for Family Ministries
  5. Work with volunteers and staff to reinvigorate Covenant’s Confirmation of Faith process
  6. Participate in weekly staff meetings
  7. Support weekly worship services as coordinated with the Lead Pastor
  8. Follow and assist in maintaining relevant Covenant policies related to child protection
  9. As possible and in collaboration with other staff members, provide care and support to families involved in family ministry programming.
  10. Other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor

Required Education and Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience with youth ministry leadership is highly desirable
  • A background in Christian Education is highly desirable
  • Experience with children’s ministry is desirable
  • Bachelor’s degrees or higher related to education, children’s ministry, or youth ministry are preferred but not required.
