Summer Ministry at WPC: For the past few years WPC has participated in a summer lunch feeding program for children and adults in Wrightsville. Monday-Friday we provide fresh food for anyone who walks through our doors. This past summer we served hundreds of meals to our neighbors many of whom are on free or reduced lunch during the school year and cannot afford meals during the summer. This year, we will continue to participate in the feeding program, but we are looking to expand our ministry to the community and provide afternoon programming for students in the afternoon two days a week.
This summer we will be hosting a week-long VBS for kids, K-6, in the community. We will also be hosting 3 local service trips for local students and other churches in the York area. These trips will be 1-day trips where we partner with local organizations and provide opportunities for students to learn about needs in our area, the creative ways organizations are striving to meet these needs and have a chance to pitch in and serve.
The Internship: This internship will be 2 days a week along with a full week during the vacation Bible school and 3 full days for the local mission trips. The summer intern will help to develop and run the afternoon programming, Vacation Bible School and the 3 local mission trips.
