Bethany Presbyterian Church in Mendenhall, PA in Donegal Presbytery, is looking for a transitional pastor for a half-time position (22-25 hours per week). If working post-retirement, the time frame would be that allowed by the Board of Pensions.
The position will begin in later January or early February.
These are the following job responsibilities:
This position likely will be initially for a period of three to six months, while the congregation searches for long-term half-time pastor. The transitional pastor will be eligible to apply for the position, upon the invitation of the session.
The preference is for an ordained Presbyterian (PCUSA) Teaching Elder, or a minister from a Formula of Agreement congregation.
Compensation will be prorated from half of the presbytery minimum, which will be $54,155 for 2018 for full-time ministry. Part or all of the compensation may be designated as housing allowance. Benefits, including participation in the PC(USA) Board of Pensions are negotiable depending upon the situation. Mileage reimbursement is included at the standard IRS rate. The contract will be negotiated with the Session, in consultation with the Donegal Presbytery's Connecting our Ministries Commission. The length of the contract will include a 30-day termination notification on either side.
